The SOILGUARD Final Conference brought together an inspiring mix of researchers, policymakers, land managers, and industry representatives in Brussels. With partners such as reNature, the LAMASUS project, DG AGRI, DG ENV, NABU e.V., and John Deere joining the discussion, we reflected on what our project has achieved, and more importantly, where we go from here.
At the heart of the event was one central question:

As the world focuses on soil health during the UNCCD COP 16 in Riyadh, this webinar will spotlight the connections between global frameworks like the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the European Union’s Soil Monitoring and Resilience Directive (SMRD). This is a unique opportunity to explore how cohesive actions on soil biodiversity, land degradation, and resilience can shape a sustainable future.

On November 17, the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) represented the SOILGUARD project at the Southeast Asia Conference on Food Security and Sustainability (SEACFOSS 2024).
During the conference, Dr. Rochana Tangkoonboribun, Director of the Expert Center of Innovative Agriculture at TISTR, presented the SOILGUARD project, emphasizing its mission to promote sustainable soil management and leverage soil biodiversity to address environmental, economic, and social challenges.
