Potsdam, Germany – The SOILGUARD project successfully concluded its Annual Consortium Meeting in Potsdam, Germany last week. Hosted by the consortium members from the Instituts für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung (IOW) and the University of Potsdam (UP), the meeting brought together leading experts in the field of soil preservation and sustainable agriculture experts. The meeting fostered a lively exchange of ideas, highlighting significant progress and recent accomplishments made by the project.

Discussions focused on key areas of the project, including advancements in the SOILGUARDIANS App, ongoing scientific efforts, and plans for a better interaction and integration of all WPs work so far. Specific topics were stakeholder engagement strategies and more specifically farmers from the pilot sites in the discussions as well as WP2 and WP3 data analysis and selection prior to including them in the App.

With a renewed sense of purpose and a clear vision for the future, SOILGUARD’s consortium is on the path to make significant progress in unleashing soil biodiversity and multi-functionality potential. We are confident that SOILGUARD’s fourth and last  year holds great promise.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all consortium members for their dedication and contributions.
